Albuquerque, NM update

I arrived in Albuquerque on Monday morning, September 24th. I was able to connect with some friends that I met when I was here last year and I went to lunch with one of them. The weather here is nice, and there have been some showers in the afternoon which cools things off a bit. I’ve been going to some stores and just browsing and also going to Costco and Sams to see what type of things they have that might be different than in Florida.

Today, September 26th is my 62nd birthday!!! I never thought I would live to 30, let alone 62. I am so very blessed!!!  Several friends from around the country have either called, sent text messages, or emails wishing me a happy birthday. The Yarden family called and sang a birthday song to me, while Didi played the piano with the birthday song. She plays so beautifully, I always enjoy listening while she practiced when I stayed with them. As I am writing these few blogs, I am eating Oreos… yummm…

This morning I got up, and went and got my hair washed at Super Cuts. Then I went to a little bistro and got breakfast. I had lunch at a Thai restaurant with Ellen and they I found a Walmart Supercenter and I am camped in their parking lot for the night. I am using the hot spot button on my phone so I am able to post some stories and pictures for the past few days.

On Monday, I go to the Balloon Fiesta campground which is really a big dirt field where about 2,000 RVs park for 9 to 14 days depending when they arrive. Most people get there on Thursday or Friday. The event starts on Saturday morning.  I won’t have electric or water hookup, so I will have to run my generator periodically. I’ll get my propane tank filled before I get there so hopefully, I will have enough for the two weeks to run my fridge.

Well, that’s about it for now. I will try to post photos or updates during the Balloon Fiesta if I can. If not, you can look at the two photo albums from last year, I’m guessing the pictures will be similar. I’m hoping that I will get another balloon ride this year, I will have to see how it goes. I knitted two hats and scarfs for Scott and his fiance Keralyn as a thanks for letting me crew for them. I knitted them the royal  blue and white in the same pattern as their hot air balloon named Big Blue.
