January – February 2026

It’s hard to believe it’s already February 2026. Not much happening in my life. I seem to stay busy doing crafts, cooking, and general chores and taking care of myself. I have been making new recipes and it seems to be fun and interesting.

I took classes at the local library a few times and learned paper quilling which is fun, and also challenging. I had two classes and I watched lots of videos online and now make a few 3D figures. I made a 5″ tall Winnie the Pooh in black and white and it took about 400 strips of paper 1/8 inch wide by about 15 inches long that I glued together in different lengths depending on what part of the bear it was. I also now know how to make different shapes and objects of quilling. I am still painting and drawing and cutting my abstracts into bookmarks to give away. I am also still weaving bags with macrame cord and that is fun too. I don’t plan the colors or designs, they just seem to come together on their own and I like seeing how they evolve. I have made a few hundred of them in different sizes and no two are the same.

A neighbor that has been assembling LEGO kits since he was young gave me a few small sets he got free with purchase and now I am hooked on LEGO’s and have bought many sets and have a few more to purchase. They are so much fun, even when challenging and even when nearly finished with a set and I add a piece and it falls apart I have to reassemble it. I found some videos online when I searched LEGO fail. I don’t assemble anything like what those people did, but someone or something happens and sets they took weeks or months to assemble are shattered within seconds.

About two years ago a good friend who goes on alot of cruises asked if I would like to go on one and we booked one on a new ship that debuted in November and I am going on a seven day cruise with her in several weeks, it seems the time between when we booked it and it’s happening came quickly. It doesn’t feel like almost two years has passed.

As for my health, it’s still about the same, some days are more challenging and painful than others but I still thankfully can get around and manage on my own.

I still have not made time to figure out how to post photos here.
