I left Oklahoma City about 11 a.m. and before I left I thanked Albert and his family for their hospitality and friendship.
I arrived in Fort Worth late Saturday afternoon, October 15th. I am staying with my friend Helen for several days, then I will be staying with my friend Sue for several days or even a week or so. After that I will be in Elm Mott near Waco.
Helen and I have been catching up since we haven’t seen each other for a few years, however, we do email and talk on the phone. Sunday night my friend Pat came to Helen’s and we all had dinner together. It was just like old times with the three of us. After dinner Helen and Pat gave me a present for my birthday which was the end of September. It is a Barnes and Noble Nook to download and read books while I’m traveling. It was so unexpected and very much appreciated. When I lived in Texas the three of us always celebrated our birthdays together and exchanged gifts, but since I moved to Florida we stopped that tradition, therefore, this was very unexpected.

Pat, Helen, and I had lunch together at Soup R’ Salad which was a great place to eat. Pat had some errands to do, so Helen and I went to a favorite candle store that we like in Fort Worth, then we went to a place to buy nuts like pecans, pistacios, etc. We were both tired by then so we stopped at the grocery store and came home to relax.
Just like old times, Helen and I stop at Braum’s for ice cream cones almost daily. They have the best ice cream!!! I think I will be gaining back the 10 or so pounds I have lost on this trip.
