Final Day of Balloon Fiesta

Today is the last day of the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. It’s cold this morning, but the weather is perfect and it is going to be a nice sunny day. Photo Album

Since we had a lot of crew today, instead of my usual assignment of holding the balloon envelope open for inflation, today I am the unofficial photographer.  Digital cameras are amazing, I had no idea I took so many pictures today (396) until I uploaded the pictures to my camera.  I have been trying to document various aspects of ballooning so that people who look at my albums have an idea of how balloons inflate, fly, land, and get packed.  Today I was able to get some launch photos, and also landing and deflating the balloon photos.

There were lots of balloons landing in the field where we did so it was really interesting to be in that spot. At one point, we saw a jack rabbit run through the field. I bet the rabbit was surprised to find so many balloons in various stages between landing, collapsing, and being packed. I was able to get two pictures of the jack rabbit, one before he jumped over a yellow balloon, the other as he jumped over it.

Because I took so many pictures today, I made another photo album just for today’s pictures. I hope you enjoy looking at the pictures in the three albums, final balloon fiesta day, packing balloon and my ride, fun morning at Balloon Fiesta .

Attending the Balloon Fiesta for the past nine days has been an amazing experience. I am planning on doing it again next year.
