Enjoying time in Texas with Friends

October 29, 2011

I am still in the Fort Worth area and enjoying my visits with my friends. I’ve been to several favorite places to eat, and also finding new ones such as a pie place in Crowley that makes a great chicken enchilada pie and baked potato salad, and we had chocolate cream pie for dessert. It was so good we scraped our plates clean!!!

Last night Sue and Mark’s granddaughter Mary who is a high school senior got recognized, along with other drill team seniors, during the halftime of their high school football game so we went to watch the recognition. I have not been to a high school football game since I graduated high school in 1968.  I’m glad we dressed warm and brought blankets because it has been cold here the last few days.

The other day, Pat, Sue, Mark (Sue’s husband) and I went to see a photography exhibit at the Amon Carter Museum in downtown Fort Worth. They also had some Remington and Russell bronze sculptures and paintings which are a part of the permanent collection. I love looking at those artists works.  In the photography exhibit I saw some photos of places that I have recently visited such as places in Utah, and also Acoma in New Mexico.  Of course we had to eat after walking through the museum so we went to the Scott Theatre Cafe in a nearby building and had lunch, which was a wonderful chicken salad that was rated as one of Fort Worth’s best chicken salads. We all agreed!!!
