Arrived Safely in Texas

I left Deerfield Beach on Tuesday afternoon and drove to St. Augustine to have my propane checked. It was still using too much gas for the fridge. Camping World checked it out and determined the gas regulator was not working right so they replaced it and I also had them install latches on some cabinet doors so they would not open while I drove.

I left St. Augustine about noon on Wednesday and got almost to Pensacola. It takes a long time to drive out of Florida. Since I was not in a hurry, I drove 55 mph most of the way to Texas. I did encounter a 2 mile traffic jam with bumper to bumper slow traffic in Lake Charles, LA. It. Added 2 hours to my trip.

There are beautiful wildflowers along the highways, especially in Texas where the bluebonnets and indian paintbrush are in bloom.

When I arrived in Elm Mott near Waco, I found out that my friends Kim and Shahar want me to camp in their yard, so that is where I am staying. I am under a large cedar tree and plugged into electricity. Kim even put 2 chairs outside my back door so I have an outdoor living room. Shahar had Jesse that works for him rinse the bugs and road grime off the camper. There were lots of bugs that hit the van.

I know between helping get ready for the wedding and preparing food, planting spring crops, and visiting with people here I will be busy. It is really nice to be back here and back to nature.
