Cruzin’ in Seattle

Patt and I got into her PT Cruiser with flames on the door, which looks really cool. Then we ventured out into Seattle and the surrounding area to see how Seattle expresses its sense of humor through its artwork.

We started out at a local arts and craft show, and heard a great acapella du-wop group. We then ventured to Camping World in Federal Way so I could return light bulbs I bought yesterday that did not work. I got a great photo of Mt. Rainier from the parking lot. Here is the picture of Mt. Ranier I took driving through the city.

Then we went through downtown Seattle headed towards Ballard to attend a Seafood Festival. Which was great timing since we were really hungry and got there about 5 p.m. Driving through downtown Seattle we drove past several of the Seattle icons like: the corporate headquarters of Amazon and Starbucks, the Space Needle, Safeco Field, Experience Music Project, more views of Mt. Rainer, and the Port of Seattle.

At the Seafood Festival we ate bacon wrapped scallops and halibut taco with garlic french fries. They tasted really good and our taste buds were very happy, as was our stomachs. We heard a great jazz band and watched several people dancing to the music which was quite interesting!!! You would have had to see it to believe it!!!

After the Seafood Festival we cruised through Fremont where we saw more artwork and sculptures such as Waiting for the Interurban (bus) a statue of a group of people, including a dog with the face of a local politician,  that changes as people decorate them for various occasions, a giant troll under the bridge holding down a real volkwagon in one hand, and the Center Universe multi-directional traffic indicator (sort of like the type in the tv show MASH). In case you are wondering, that is not me standing on the troll’s hand.

See the Photo Gallery for more Seattle photos.

We had a full day and came home very tired.  But we still found energy to update this page while we still remembered what we did. Off to more adventures tomorrow.
